George Will Went From Flinging Newspapers to Writing Pulitzer Prize-Winning Pieces


George F. Will, 80, is a Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist for the Washington Post and a TV commentator. He is the author of 16 books, including his latest collection of columns, “American Happiness and Discontents” (Hachette). He spoke with Marc Myers.

If a miserable childhood is the fertilizer of creativity, I’m cursed by having had a wonderful time growing up. I was guided into cheerfulness.
